"Connection and Restoration- Summer Book Club Summer is a time to restore our love of teaching and learning. We reconnect with colleagues cross the glove, expand our understanding of current literature, and reenergize our understanding of reading for the next school year. In 2021 we had 1350 teachers and leaders from 15 countries! We discuss books that inspire students to become passionate readers and writers. This year we include books and author interviews specifically for middle school students and teachers. All book selections for elementary, middle, and high school students are epresentative of our multi-racial democracy. We will study how readers make meaning, sustain engagement, track understanding over time, and develop their knowledge of different genres. As a community of professional educators, we learn together and plan instruction to reach a wide range of readers as we learn from authors, poets, and educational leaders. https://www.booklovefoundation.org/summer-book-club
